DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Updated! Domestic violence against women in Islam and outside of Islam is coming to light more and more each day. It's causes are many, but high on the list are ignorance, lack of self-restraint, and low faith in Allah at the time of abuse. I will be adding more links about domestic violence to this site in hopes of making the ignorant knowledgeable and stopping this violent cycle that plagues the world. Islam does not allow for the beating of a women that leaves marks on her body - the overall effect being marks on her pride and her soul. Muhammad (Peace be Upon him) is our best example of how to treat women. Hadith - Tirmidhi "The most perfect of the believers is the best of you in character, and the best of you are those among you who are best to their wives." Abuse of a woman or any other is horrible and demeaning. We must all do a serious evaluation of our worth, our faults, our goals, and most importantly, the plan that Allah (Glory be to Him) and his Messenger (Peace be Upon him) have given us to follow. O Prophet! Sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto those who follow thee among the Believers. Surat Al-Anfal (8:64)
Hadith - Muslim & Bukhari "Allah is not kind to him who is not kind to people."
The Noble Qur'an 42:43 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.
Hadith - Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi "Those who are kind and considerate to Allah's creatures, Allah bestows His kindness and affection on them. Show kindness to the creatures on the earth so that Allah may be kind to you."
The Noble Qur'an 30:21 And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.
The Noble Qur'an 4:19 O ye who believe! ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness that ye may take away part of the dower ye have given them except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.
