Am I My Sister's Keeper? Do I love her for the sake of Allah? Do I want for her what I want for myself? Do I look out for my sister and try to pull her back when she strays? Do I offer advice that is good and do I offer it in the best way possible? Do I know when to give advice, when to listen and when I have said enough? Am I My Sister's Keeper?

My Sister’s Keeper or MySK was founded January 10, 2002. It was created initially as an online youth e-group in order to reach more young girls in our city, country, and around the world. It developed into this website that you are viewing now. Today we have members in the USA, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia. We have daughters, mothers, sisters and friends.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the MySK online youth group is to discuss the lives of young Muslimahs in Non-Islamic Societies. Our discussions include Islam, mixing, drinking, peer pressure, self esteem and more. We encourage adult Muslimahs to join our online yahoogroup (mysk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) and get to know our youth and to understand what goes on in the communities that our children grow up in. Muslimahs under 13 should discuss joining this group with their parents or guardians first because of the possible content of the discussions.

The purpose of the MySK website is to expand on what is being discussed in the youth group, and to include information that is relevant to adults as well as youth. The information given on this site can be viewed and used by anyone (man, woman, child, Muslim, non-Muslim) who wishes to learn about themselves, Islam, or issues that may one day affect them or their family. The range of information is vast so please take time to browse through our site and learn something new. Save MySK as one of your "favorites" and pass our website along to your friends and family.

Some Of Our Activities

We are selling cookbooks and various other items (buttons, etc.) to raise money to fund lectures, seminars, and workshops for women and youth. We will also use the funds to cover administrative costs and distribute various materials such as Islamic information, Domestic Violence Awareness information, Breast Cancer Awareness information, and more. Joining tht MySK Youth Group

To join My Sister's Keeper, send a blank e-mail to: mysk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com We would love to have you. Females 13 and up only please. Younger sisters may join with the permission of their parents. Again, some of the subjects discussed are very mature such as alcohol, drugs and sex related issues (i.e. dating and rape, etc.).
